Lymphatic System Explained

Many of my lovely customers asking me, why they always feel so tense and tired ~ this is explanation why.
As a beauty and holistic therapist, I often like to focus on the lymphatic system. It plays very important role in the human body and it's keeping skin healthy and radiant. Our lymphatic system is part of the immune system and interacts with every organ in the body. Similar to the blood system, it circulates fluid ~ called lymph ~ around the body. Its main functions are to filter and clean the blood and lymph, fight infection and to drain nutrient rich fluid that leaks into the tissues back into the bloodstream.
Because the lymphatic system relies on the body for movement, it can become sluggish and ‘toxins’ can accumulate during the winter months when we tend to slow down. This can result in puffiness, water retention, cellulite and skin conditions such as acne and skin ageing. By keeping your lymphatic system healthy, your skin will look and feel better, and you will also feel great too! Regular exercise is vital to keep our lymph system in good shape as the flow of lymph is reliant on our muscles contracting. Any form of movement is great ~ swimming, running, Yoga, Pilates or even a good brisk walk in the crisp winter air. Hot Stone Therapy massage, Indian Head massage or even ordinary Swedish massage can also help to stimulate our lymphatic system.
Make sure, you drink plenty of water! Your body needs fluids to flush out all the toxins. You can also try pure Fennel tea, which is great aid for detox, my all time favorite.
Start your morning with a cup of ~ Hot Lemon ~ water infused with a slice of lemon and grated fresh ginger.
It’s a great drink to help your circulation! ♥
